- The Scott House is wheelchair accessible from Shafer Court, and a limited-use elevator is available on-site.
- Banners, signs, decorations, etc. are not permitted with the exception of free-standing signs, easels, and flowers on tables. Nothing is to be hung, taped, or tied to any part of the Scott House.
- Open flames of any kind are not permitted inside the Scott House.
- No furniture in the Scott House is to be moved except through VCU Facilities personnel. Some rooms have furniture which has limitations on use and weight. Those pieces will be discussed during facility walkthroughs.
- The volume level of outside music must be in compliance with the City of Richmond noise ordinance. No music is permitted during regular business hours, and outdoor music must cease by 10 p.m.
- The Scott House is available for use Monday thru Friday, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., one client/event at a time. Events held during VCU operating hours must be appropriate to the space and in consideration of those working on the second and third floors.
- Event requests occurring after operating hours and on weekends will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- The Scott House is accessible to the client and vendors two hours prior to the event (for setup) and one hour after the event's scheduled end time (for breakdown).
- Guests must leave the Scott House when the event is scheduled to conclude. Extending an event past the scheduled end time is not permitted.
The following rooms are available for rent and use on the 1st floor of the Scott House. The capacities listed below are for clear rooms and are not indicative of the capacities associated with furniture and rental items. The Office of University Events and Strategic Operations will discuss capacity concerns as appropriate.

Food consumed in the Scott House must be provided by one of the catering companies below. Should you wish to utilize other catering services, please contact the Office of University Events and Strategic Operations, at UNIVevents@vcu.edu for approval.

The Scott House serves as a front door to VCU, so we ask that you help us keep it ready for visitors and guests.
Immediately after an event ends, please remove all food, flowers, and trash from the Scott House by either taking it with you or taking it to the dumpster located behind the Anderson House/Pollak Building.
There will be a $100 charge for the removal of any food, flowers, or trash left at the house.

All outside rentals are to be confined to the kitchen. Rentals are to be picked up no later than 10 a.m. on the following day. Saturday rentals may be picked up on Monday.
